Guidelines for the Federal Tax Credit for Energy Efficiency per the
International Energy Conservation Code (IECC)
1) Film must be installed on Low E or Dual Pane Tinted or Clear Glass
2) Glass must be in non-metal frame (ie... wood or plastic)
3) Must be primary residence
4) Must be "placed in service" between Jan 1- Dec 31,2009
5) Window film must block 80% of total solar energy
6) Window film is eligible building envelope insulation component for
Climate Zone 2 ( includes Texas) and qualify under section 25c of the
Internal Revenue Code
7) Must be expected to last 5yrs or have a 2 year warranty
8) Must have receipt and Manufacturer's Certificate Statement
9) Use IRS Form 5695
